PDSI#53.2 Rig of PT. Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) has achieved remarkable performance. In 298 working days or 384,604 working hours, from June 28, 2024, to April 22, 2025, there have been no accidents.

This achievement was appreciated by the Board of Commissioners of PT Pertamina (Persero) along with the management of PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) during a management walkthrough at Rig PDSI#53.2, which is currently operating in the Rokan work area on Tuesday (04/22/2025).

The activity is part of the company’s commitment to ensuring work safety and optimal operational performance in the field.

The management walkthrough symbolizes the synergy between commissioners, management, and field workers to continuously improve performance and uphold safety and sustainability aspects in national oil drilling operations.

Pertamina’s Independent Commissioner, Condro Kirono, expressed pride and respect for all rig personnel, whom he referred to as the backbone and energy warriors.

“Oil and gas investment must be prioritized for domestic needs. In 2026, well targets and programs must be more ambitious,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of developing Unconventional Oil and Gas (UOG) in the Rokan area and making HSSE a top priority, considering that work in the oil and gas sector is classified as high risk.

In line with this, Pertamina’s Independent Commissioner, Raden Adjeng Sondaryani, also gave extraordinary appreciation for the performance of personnel in the field. She emphasized that safety is a non-negotiable requirement.

“JSA and PTW must be ensured and implemented before work begins,” she added.

Sondaryani also encouraged the implementation of environmentally friendly drilling systems such as the pitless concept.

During the visit, Pertamina Drilling’s Director of Operations, Aziz Muslim, expressed high appreciation for the performance of the PDSI#53.2 Rig team.

“We highly appreciate Project IDESS, especially Rig PDSI#53.2, which has completed 7 wells with excellent performance while prioritizing safety,” he said.

Aziz emphasized the importance of maintaining a culture of work safety through the application of HSE Golden Rules (Compliance, Intervention, and Care) and 10 CLSR Elements in every drilling activity.
