Irwan Mussry’s decision not to have children from his marriage to musician Maia Estianty has once again caught the public’s attention. Previously, Maia disclosed that this decision was made based on mutual agreement. One of the considerations was Irwan’s age, which was no longer young when they got married, as well as his personal views on readiness to have children at that stage of life.

Maia explained that Irwan had past experiences that significantly influenced his perspective on family. He lost his father at a very young age, around 8 years old. This experience was said to shape his views on emotional risks in building a family at a more mature age.

In addition, age consideration was also a crucial factor. Irwan reportedly did not want to put a child in a situation of losing parents at a very young age if something undesirable were to happen in the future.

Nevertheless, the couple continues to lead a harmonious married life. Irwan is also known to be close and play the role of a father figure to his stepchildren, namely Al Ghazali, El Rumi, and Dul Jaelani.

He is often present in various important family moments, from birthdays to the weddings of his stepchildren, maintaining a strong role in their family life.
