Dewa 19 Hits Song Inspired by Luna Maya
Jakarta – One of the hit songs from the Indonesian band Dewa 19 turned out to be inspired by the actress and model Luna Maya.
The song is Cinta Kan Membawamu Kembali (Love Will Bring You Back) which was created by Ahmad Dhani. The song was released in 1995 and included in Dewa 19’s third album titled Terbaik Terbaik.
Dhani created the song because he was once mesmerized by Luna’s charm. The former husband of Maia Estianty apparently felt love at first sight for Luna Maya.
This was revealed by Ari Lasso when singing the song at Luna’s wedding to Maxime Bouttier. Ari, who was the vocalist of Dewa 19 at that time, revealed that Dhani first saw Luna while in Bali.
“So this song is related to Luna Maya. At that time we were on tour in Bali, and suddenly there was a very beautiful girl riding a motorcycle. Dhani immediately said, ‘Who is that?'” Ari Lasso recounted on Luna Maya’s YouTube.
“Seventeen years later, we asked and it turned out to be Luna, this is the song,” continued Ari as he immediately sang the song Cinta Kan Membawamu Kembali.
Prior to this, Luna Maya held a lavish wedding party with Maxime Bouttier in Bali. The event was lively with the presence of many famous Indonesian artists and celebrities.
Some guests also enlivened the wedding reception by performing songs, starting from the artist couple Anang Hermansyah and Ashanty, Maruli Tampubolon, to Geng Menteri Ceria. They sang romantic songs that made the wedding reception atmosphere more solemn and intimate.
Maxime also contributed a romantic song sung specifically for his wife. The 32-year-old model sang the legendary song Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.
