Dr. Harli Siregar, SH. M.Hum, an alumni of the Faculty of Law at the University of North Sumatra, has been appointed by the leadership of the Attorney General’s Office as the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office. This achievement has brought pride to the alumni of the Faculty of Law at the University of North Sumatra.
According to the Decree of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number 352 of 2025 dated July 4, 2025, Dr. Harli Siregar, S.H., M.Hum has been entrusted with the position of Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office. He replaces Idianto, who has also been rotated to a new position as the Secretary of the Asset Recovery Agency of the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta.
Dr. Hasrul Benny Harahap, SH. M.Hum, the Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law at the University of North Sumatra, expressed his pride in seeing one of the alumni, Harli Siregar, achieve such a prestigious and strategic position in the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office.
“We consider this to be the result of Harli Siregar’s dedication and totality in every position entrusted to him by the leadership of the Attorney General’s institution in every assignment, from the lowest position to the highest career position, currently as the Head of the High Prosecutor’s Office,” said Hasrul Harahap to reporters on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Harli Siregar is known as a prosecutor with integrity, professionalism, and a continuous commitment to improving his competence through continuous learning in various fields of knowledge. He is diligent in reading many books, not only about law but also about philosophy, social issues, culture, politics, and spiritual books.
Based on his experience, Harli Siregar is described as a humble and approachable prosecutor who interacts with people from all walks of life. Within the Attorney General’s Office, he is seen as a firm leader, a good mentor, always willing to help, and quick to show appreciation for his staff’s good work, as mentioned by Hasrul Harahap.
With diverse experiences working in various regions, Harli Siregar carries out his duties with a sense of responsibility and professionalism. He understands that the profession of a prosecutor in Indonesia requires continuous learning to keep up with the ever-evolving national and global landscape.
The Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law at the University of North Sumatra reminisces about the challenging journey of students from out of town, including Harli Siregar, during their time at the Faculty of Law in Medan. They faced struggles being far from their families, were required to be independent, and had to complete their studies on time.
“As a student from Dolok Sinumbah, Simalungun Regency, Harli Siregar adapted to fellow students from diverse backgrounds and cultures who gathered in Medan as boarding students. He managed to complete his studies on time with excellent grades,” Benny recalled.
